Experiencing History: Brown Road Racing at the First Ever Belmont Stakes Festival at Saratoga Race Course
The excitement was palpable as Brown Road Racing embarked on an unforgettable journey to the historic first ever Belmont Stakes Festival at the iconic Saratoga Race Course. Our week was filled with events that highlighted the best of horse racing, community engagement, and celebrations of a storied tradition.
Kicking Off the Belmont Festival
Our members started the week with a thrilling visit to the backstretch, where we had the privilege of meeting the magnificent horses Thorpedo Anna and Mystik Dan, under the expert care of renowned trainer Ken McPeek. Seeing these majestic creatures up close and witnessing the dedication of their trainers set the tone for an incredible festival experience.
That evening, we attended "Embrace The Belmont", in support of Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga at the National Racing Museum. The event was a wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich history and heritage of horse racing, surrounded by fellow enthusiasts and industry legends.
Celebrations and Community at Saratoga
Thursday began with the "Celebrate The Belmont at Saratoga" breakfast held at the Saratoga Reading Rooms. This gathering was not only a chance to enjoy a delightful meal but also for Brown Road Racing members to share their passion for the thoroughbred industry.
The excitement continued that evening celebrating connections of Arcangelo at The Belmont Gala, a glamorous event supporting the National Racing Museum & Hall of Fame. The gala was a highlight of the week, featuring elegant attire, lively conversations, and an atmosphere charged with anticipation for the races ahead.
Honoring Contributions and Supporting Foundations
On Friday, we witnessed a heartfelt moment as the backstretch community of the NY Race Track Chaplaincy were honored in Race 8. The dedication to supporting the backstretch community is truly inspiring.
Later that evening, Brown Road Racing attended the prestigious NYRA Ball at the Fasig Tipton Sales Stables. The event supported the NYRA Foundation and was an elegant affair filled with industry leaders and supporters, all coming together for a noble cause.
The Pinnacle: Belmont Stakes Day
Saturday was the day we had all been eagerly awaiting - Belmont Stakes Day. Our members gathered at the track, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie that defines this remarkable event. The atmosphere was electric as we celebrated the Belmont at Saratoga, a historic moment in the racing calendar. Congratulations to one of our industry partners, West Paces Racing with Dornoch winning the Belmont Stakes.
Concluding with NY Showcase Day
The festival concluded on Sunday with the NY Showcase Day, where we attended a special event in support of New York-bred horses at the Saratoga Reading Rooms. It was a fitting end to a week of celebrations, highlighting the importance of supporting local breeding programs and the future of horse racing in New York.
